    Valid point here!!!! When this issue first cropped up, I was thinking....the bird guide books are going to make a fortune!!!! But not from me... I am not buying any more bird books but will simply scratch out the old name and write in the new one. No one is getting more of my $ just because...

    I am thinking that the name of the bird named after a person isn't really distracting to new birders... What is more distracting is having some birds given a name based upon some odd colorization someplace on it's body that can be viewed only rarely and in the right sunlight etc...
