    Thanks for the reply. Last weekend I was considering a very short notice trip to avoid the hell that is Christmas but read online that a visa was required so didn't follow up too far (I could not find any cheap flights anyway) - I should have read the FO advice further: a visa is required by UK...

    Congratulations on the lifers. On logistics: did you have any issue with getting your binoculars through security? Am I right in thinking a visa is required for UK travellers?
