Leupold Gold Ring HD 8x32 versus SV 8x32
I bought it used, its actually 7x36 not 35mm, its Japan made, similar I think to the old Opticron and Helios HR line, a bit old school with lots of distortion and small sweet spot but very sharp in the centre and reasonably bright with a touch of yellowing to the colour. There`s an 8x42 one... -

Maybe, but I reckon if you put a Swaro motif on a Zen Ray Prime and let the average punter try it they`d wax lyrical about how superior it is ;) -

Very much, back when I picked up my 550***SE I was able to put it alongside a 32mm SV, which for me is the only roof that`s comparable, doubt the chance will ever come my way to try a Gold Ring. I`m looking for a top 7x42, my Opticron was good but fell at the fov hurdle, I`m actually leaning... -

If they feel as I do then there`s no point in posting what you think about a binocular if there`s a chance some owner or fan might feel they`v been personally violated by anothers opinion. The optics section has been ruined, there is no debate, no banter, no point.
