    Habicht for birdwatching?

This all comes down to what’s your definition of considerable. The NL is still one of the best binos for low light observing available. My purchase of the 742 Habicht wasn’t necessarily for low light observing., I just wanted a Swaro porro. Under most conditions, even late afternoon or very...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

I had asked that exact question, I was told there is room to change out the o-ring and still maintain spec of 13 ft / 4 m water depth, (inert gas filling) or very close to it. I suspect there is room in the tolerances to be able to lighten them up and still maintain water proofing. They probably...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

The focuser doesn’t really loosen up very much with use, at least not by a noticeable amount. I do feel they are excellent birding binoculars once the focuser has been tweaked. I had mine done by Swarovski. I’m sure other porro repair companies could it as well. I believe it’s just changing out...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

No particular reason , I just had the 42’s first and bought the green eyecups after reading some reviews. Also the 42 has 14mm of eye relief and the 30 has 12mm so the black rubber extenders are more flexible for adjustment. Im not sure where I bought them, it was either Ebay or Amazon. Im...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

Nice acquisition. Super sharp!! Imo the 3D is there but it doesn’t jump out at you like the large vintage porros. I use the the green eyecups on my 7x42’s and these rubber extensions on my 32’s. These are nice because you can adjust them a bit. Enjoy Paul

    Habicht for birdwatching?

Nothing wrong with you at all (at least not for wanting a Swaro Habicht 😂). The Habicht is Swarovski’s most unique binocular, as well as one of the most unique porros being made today. If you’re a binocular guy/gal/fluid , it’s a gotta have binocular. Its retro, and it’s simplistic styling is...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

Imo these two are completely different binoculars, more so than jut the differences of the magnification and objective size. It’s quite different than say comparing the Leica Ultravid 7x42 , to the 8x32. We could say the image sharpness and brightness (in daytime use) is similar in both, but the...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

I was assured by Swaro they will maintain water proofing. Maybe Swarovski is trying to maintain the same submersible level throughout the lineup. I’m not sure it matters to me if my binoculars can stay submerged in five feet of water for thirty minutes or four feet of water for twenty minutes...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

This is a good question, the 3-D affect is very subjective from one individual to another, some don’t even see it. What I find and some agree, is that the wider the separation of the barrels/prisms the more perception of the 3-D effect. Lower magnification may or may not have an effect, I’m not...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

The focusers on the Habicht’s are smooth, they’re just tight. After a little tweaking they feel as good ,if not better than the E2. Imo it’s hard to find anything much better price wise than an E2. But you do pay for what you get and they fall a little short of the SE’s and Habicht’s, imo. The...

    Habicht for birdwatching?

I agree with most of the posts here about the Habicht not being the best binoculars for birding. I think similarly like Yarrellii, that many binoculars can fall into , not the best dedicated birding binocular category. Some could say and do , that any binocular with a small objective size, not...
