    I want to say out near Hawaii they have found some mixed in with the Tropical Pacific form (which should probably eventually be split from the Atlantic form eventually).

    That's never been a serious contender. IIRC the NACC is going for Cocos Booby, which complements the existing Nazca Booby; both are named after the geologic plates that correspond to their range. I never brought it up when I first posted that proposal, but there is some salt to put it lightly...

The challenge IIRC is that some mainland birds do sometimes pop up in the West Indies, although I assume they must be identifiable for this to be known.     The most likely version of the proposal to pass would have Northern range through most of Mexico, with the Yucatan and further south Southern. Any House Wren you saw in Florida would be Northern, if that is what you are wondering.

    Clements I believe is the hold out on that split, so they sort of have to address what with the checklist reconciliation process going on. Southern and Northern House Wren split should get a ton of birders an armchair tick...both are widespread and pretty easy to see.

    I also am skeptical about the proposal passing, but then proposals I have thought were slam dunks failed, and proposals I thought were long shots passed, so my ability to predict how the committee will go obviously is not great :P

    The fact that the AOS has to waste proposals and time on whether something deserves a hyphen or not is one reason why I hate the way hyphens are dealt with by the AOS :)

    Was wondering if we would even get any proposals this year honestly, with all the AOS classification turmoil Looks like a lot of WGAC related proposals. And yes, I assume the proposal author forgot about Lesser Redpoll, although I have yet to read the list.
