    Bit late in the season now, but West Cornwall Ringing Group and Falmouth Marine School are doing some work on urban gulls in the town and are keen to hear about accessible nest sites. We'll be colour-ringing as many birds as we can in the town to look at behaviour and movements of urban gulls...

    The owl was indeed a local bird, ringed at the reservoir back in 2011. I'm sure Dan will post full details when he gets them. Pity I've not been keeping up Ilya or could have pointed you at a Barn Owl breeding site just outside Falmouth...

    The bird of prey is a Buzzard and they're often seen on the ground taking small prey items. The other bird is a Redwing, with a nice bright supercilium above the eye.

    OK, so not quite Falmouth, but a calling Yellow-browed Warbler was in trees opposite Carnon Downs Sewage Works this evening.

    First-winter Med Gull at the northern cut-off at Stithians is only the second record for the year. Also juv Little Gull there last week.
