    Yes, it said on the BBC East News tonight that the air ambulance will use the grass. Assuming this is correct, presumably the matting is mainly to deal with wet conditions, which aren’t happening at the moment - IIRC the local weather forecast said only 2.9mm of rain so far in April.

    Definitely an attack chopper, presumably an Apache. Here in Beds we often get pairs of them flying over. They're so noisy, I always think that if I was a Taleb, I’d be crouched in my foxhole with my Stinger pointed at the sky long before they put in an appearance. Edit: that’s always provided...

    Though in the case of e.g. F15s, I can see an argument for using an apostrophe. 'F15s' could be an error for a single F15S (presumably a very late mark of the F15, perhaps the ultimate development of the F15E Strike Eagle), rather than plural F15's of unspecified mark, doesn't the apostrophe...
