How do you carry your binoculars?

I stopped by the local sporting goods store last night and checked out the bino chest packs they had. In my opinion, badlands were the best design compared to the others in stock. The patented magnetic flap is just so clever and functional. Its quite, quick and secure. Badlands makes several...

How do you carry your binoculars?

I don't see them typically when in use but sometimes the scratch will catch a glare. It's more detrimental when trying to sell binoculars. Any type of scratch just kills resale value.

How do you carry your binoculars?

Yes and my whiplash was from a car accident back in 1994 and it still bothers me.

How do you carry your binoculars?

It only took me a few days transecting for miles off trail through the forest doing wildlife surveys with an 8x40 porro dangling from a neck strap before I knew kneck straps were not the thing for me. Perhaps it is also that I had a whiplash in a car accident. My neck can't take it for more...

How do you carry your binoculars?

I definitely think a chest pack would be slightly slower than a neck strap or harness if speed to the eyes is of high importance. I dont find it too slow for my uses but acknowledge it would be slower to the eyes.

How do you carry your binoculars?

Yeah the data seems to suggest that most use the original neck strap either around front or bandolier/safari style. Seemingly they either dont prefer harnesses as Im sure some have tried them, or have not tried them or are not aware of them as you suggest. I find that carrying 42mm or even 50mm...

How do you carry your binoculars?

Nice addition thanks. There are a lot of nice options in bino packs. I like the simplicity, light weight and design of this model. Thanks for sharing

How do you carry your binoculars?

Right, keeping the elements off the binoculars is one of the key reasons why I use a front pack. When I just used a harness, i would get dust, dirt, moisture, plant duff etc on the binoculars. Plus I would have to clean off the lenses more often because of the dust, which risks scratches no...

How do you carry your binoculars?

I have not tried the kuiu nor FHF. I personally like the magnetic flaps of the Balands models the best, they are quick, secure and silent. Athough I would say that any bino pack has the same basic function.

How do you carry your binoculars?

My harness was/is a sportsmens warehouse retail store brand. I have seen Leopold, Vortex, Rustic Ridge, Crooked horn, I don't notice much difference between them. For bino chest packs I have seen people with the the Vortex glass pack, Kuiu, Eberlestock, Alps, but I see Badlands the most. I got...

How do you carry your binoculars?

I definitly hear you on this. Its what I put up with too and it is a hassel with a harness. But for me its worth it as a tradeoff instead of a neck or back ache. I totally get it though.

How do you carry your binoculars?

There probably is something regional or cultural to it. I live in the western United States, with time in both Utah and Idaho. We have expansive landscapes where public lands are plentiful, with access to abundant trails and expansive viewsheds where veiwing distances are measured in miles...

How do you carry your binoculars?

Thanks for sharing, this is cool. This is not so different from the badlands concept except they hook to four points on the pack and they are connecting their binopack instead.

How do you carry your binoculars?

I did not expect to see the original neck strap wind up in the majority. I remember wondering why manufacturers bother even including a stap because so many I know use a harness. Come to think of it, no one I know uses the original strap as all use harnesses. I thought it was a near universal...

What is a bandolier? I would have included it if I knew what it is. Bandolier added.

How do you carry your binoculars?

I agree the shoulder harness was my preferred method for more than a decade. So much so that I wondered why manufacturers even continued to provide neck straps. Looks like some still use them. After using a binopack Im not likely to go back.
