    Monochamus Agreed. Monochamus sartor. The white bands on the antenna suggest a female. Might be worth removing it as my old Collins field guide notes that it can damage structural timbers!

    Kowa 7x40 bins

    I picked up a pair of Kowa 7x40s in a shop in Buxton some years back - about £100 then. I wanted something for the glove box of the car. They have been wonderful for that - light, easy to focus and totally reliable. I've never heard them mentioned - anyone else tried them?
