    Warbler species french Pyrénées

Hi all, I'd appreciate any thoughts on this please. Merlin has it down as a tick for me, and having listened to the call, I am hopeful, but would like expert opinion (I won't say what Merlin says so as to not influence opinions). I have a few other recordings if needed. Thanks in advance

    No idea - French Pyrenees.

Hi all. Took this today not far from Tarbes in the french Pyrenees. I was driving and thought it was a greater spotted woodpecker for a min, but took s pic because it seemed odd. This is the only pic, I didn't see it through bins or scope. Any thoughts

Bop french pyrenees. Buzzard? Honey buzzard? Other?

Hi all. I saw two of these before I had my scope out. Got a few pics and assumed they were buzzards but the wings look chunky and with the brightness turned up enough the tail markings might suggest honey buzzard? Thanks for any thoughts.

    Bird of prey French Pyrenees

Hi all, another day, another game of "whats this blurry pic of?". I went to a local spot hoping for a Short toed eagle (seen this week) and saw this "contender". The bird was miles away but through the scope I saw the bird was pale and dark. Darkish head, pale-ish body. The bird seemed big...

BOP identification in the French pyrenees.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on this raptor seen in summer 2020 (2019 maybe) over Bagnères golf course in the French pyrenees. It's a terrible pic as I wasn't birding at the time, so no scope or even bins or camera. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Help needed identifying this sound recording French Pyrenees.

Hi all, this was heard today above Bagnères in the French Pyrenees. I've used Birdnet and Merlin and have 4 different results for the same bird (fieldfare, blackcap, stonechat, Cettis warbler). I briefly saw a silhouette and can rule out stonechat and fieldfare (wrong size for FF and wrong...

    Reasonably priced recording device.

Hey all, I'm looking to get a parabolic mic for someone for Xmas. They aren't a huge birdwatcher, they currently use Birdnet to record garden birds. I was wondering if there are any mics that might not be too expensive but would still be useful to this type of birder. Ideally they would still be...

Gull, Chiberta Golf Course Biarritz France.

Hey all, saw this gull while golfing (no scope or bins). I'm not great at gulls at the best of time. Was wondering if it's possible to ID from these pics. Things I noted was a seemingly black and pretty thin bill (the thin part could have been because of distance. There was a dark band at the...

Sparrowhawk or Goshawk? Seen above Bagneres de Bigorre in the French pyrenees

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help try ID this bird. Seen in the French Pyrenees at over 700m altitude. Seen with Red Kites and Ravens and wasn't as dwarfed as I would have expected from a Sparrowhawk (was smaller than both other species but not by half). Pics taken against the...

    Wader ID Southern France please.

Seen in the South of France (Lac de Castelnau-Magnoac), saw a Flowk of Dunlin and presumed Little stint + Potential Curlew Sand. Was asked to add more pics by a member, so here they are. I Know the quality is terrible, they are phonescoped from a long way off, I am quite new to birding but will...
