    Spotted Sandpiper

    Great to have the Spotted Sandpiper confirmed yesterday. Managed to see it briefly at Landguard viewpoint but vanished soon after. A fantastic bird for Suffolk that's for sure.

    First trials with Sony RX100 II

    Just back from Bempton/Flamborough and quite pleased with the Sony RX for video scoping. These 2 Fulmars were filmed admittedly not doing much but when the Fulmar yawns you can actually see the warm breath from its beak opening. Best viewed in 720 HD. No video editing, just raw footage.     Balance rail

    Am using a Swarovski ATX 95 with DCB mk 2 on a Manfrotto fluid head. I will soon be getting a Sony RX100 and would like to know if this setup will be tail heavy and require a balance rail. Thanks, Matt

    Struggling with a decision

    Hi, I am about to purchase either the 85 or 95mm ATX but cannot for the life of me decide which one suits best. I know there is only a matter of around £250 between them both. Weight is not a problem as i am used to carrying an 800mm F5.6 with big Gitzo and Wimberley head so that's not an issue...
