    No Jane it's a spotted sandpiper. A friend of mine and another birder got permission to enter the dock and got pictures and id conformation. See bird guides Suffolk for photos. I thank you.

    Great to have the Spotted Sandpiper confirmed yesterday. Managed to see it briefly at Landguard viewpoint but vanished soon after. A fantastic bird for Suffolk that's for sure.

    Just back from Bempton/Flamborough and quite pleased with the Sony RX for video scoping. These 2 Fulmars were filmed admittedly not doing much but when the Fulmar yawns you can actually see the warm breath from its beak opening. Best viewed in 720 HD. No video editing, just raw footage.     Am using a Swarovski ATX 95 with DCB mk 2 on a Manfrotto fluid head. I will soon be getting a Sony RX100 and would like to know if this setup will be tail heavy and require a balance rail. Thanks, Matt

    Had a good sea watch at Aldeburgh on Thursday. Saw my first Pilot whale. Definitely not the more common Minky as the dorsal was too far forward and not big enough. Was well chuffed. :t:
