Never seen any of these before

https://www.allgadgets.co.uk/marine/pc/bynolyt-searanger-iii-7x50-compass-binocular-13p87.htm?atc=1&idproduct=87 They float and have a 25 year guarantee which is good. What they are like optically I don't know, but I came across them purely by chance

SLC. Quick question with a yes or no

My SLC 8x42 is a 2017 model. I've seen a few comments on here suggesting that there had been an update to the model in 2019/20. Has there been an updated model since 2017? Just curious to know

    Carl Zeiss Jena servicing

I have a nice pair of Carl Zeiss Jena 8x30s made in the GDR circa 1957. I was wondering if Zeiss would service these binoculars even though they carry the Carl Zeiss name, but are not true Zeiss, as per the current company? If so, would they likely update the optics if necessary?

Is it really worth buying an NL 8x42?

I have an 8x42 SLC, which I find to be fantastic Is the expense really worth buying the NL? Is it really that much better that I spend another 2k plus? Thoughts please? I was really contemplating buying them but do I really need to? Are they that much better than what I already have? I'm...

Do you consider the SLC to be an Alpha binocular?

I have the 8 x 42 SLC and I love it. I have looked through an EL 8.5 x 42 and found very little difference in the clarity, sharpness, brightness etc. Yes, there's a bit more clarity at the outer edges but the SLC does have a very large sweet spot, so this makes very little difference to my...

Field of view question for the NL?

Everybody keeps saying that one of the primary advantages of the NL is the increased field of view. I have been totally blind in my left eye for over 40 years. Viewing through one barrel, will I still see the increased FOV or not? Maybe someone can enlighten me on this by doing a test for me?

    Swarovski dG monocular 8x25

Hi Has anyone tried this fairly new device? It has a built in camera and automatically connects to the Merlin Bird app on a mobile phone to identify a bird. This, I believe, could be particularly useful for identifying unfamiliar birds whilst on holiday abroad. Has anyone tried this device...

    SLC. Is this normal?

Whenever I don't use glasses (not often) I've noticed a slight yellow/green ring around the very outer edge of the field of view. Is this normal, or is it my eyes, or is there a possible fault with the binoculars? Thanks for any advice

Leica 8x32's or 8x42's. What is the real difference?

Very briefly, I am considering adding a big brother to my 8x20 BL Ultravids. I am considering either the Ultravid 8x32's or the 8x42's. Is there are real difference between the two or is the difference so marginal that most people would not know the difference. At the end of the day both models...

    The very best.

    Woodpecker

Hi We are new to birding and need help identifying some species. Yesterday evening at the Moore Nature Reserve feeding station in Cheshire we saw what I am sure was a woodpecker, but what kind? It had a black cap (no red on head) and it's breast and body was a distinctive beige colour with...

    Leica 8x20 Ultravids...and then a further question?

Hi I have looked at several binoculars and monoculars to purchase. I have now decided that I would like a compact pair of binoculars to be used for birding, walking and general usage. We still have two pairs of (good quality in my opinion) standard size bins for birdwatching, but I wanted a...
