The female bluebird in our yard took about 6 days to finish her nest. She would work on it periodically, then not show up for hours on end (sometimes a full day depending on rainy/stormy weather). She also didn't sleep in the nest at night and stopped working around 7pm most nest building days. We have a lot of activity in our yard and she always comes back.

folks ..few week back the new born chicks left the house... last 1 odd week i see a new bird going in and out ,, seems like blue bird only ..but not very sure as these new ones are not dark blue ...

so is it that blue birds lay eggs all around the year thanks

seems like

No, bluebirds do not lay eggs all year round. The breeding season for bluebirds typically runs from early spring to late summer, depending on their geographical location. In North America, for instance, Eastern Bluebirds generally start nesting in March or April and may continue through August. During this time, a pair of bluebirds can have multiple broods, usually two to three per season.

Outside of the breeding season, bluebirds do not lay eggs. They spend the rest of the year foraging for food, migrating if necessary, and preparing for the next breeding season. Their breeding and egg-laying patterns are influenced by factors such as temperature, daylight hours, and food availability.
