Identification

16–20·5 cm (6¼-8 in)

Distribution

Asia: China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Bangladesh, Bhutan
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra

Taxonomy

Formerly considered conspecific with Black-throated Prinia.

Habitat

Scrub, clearings, grassy and cultivated areas.

Behaviour

Diet

Their main diet consists mostly of insects and their larvae. They generally forage singly or in pairs.
