This is Cheltenham’s main municipal park to the North of the town, by the famous Pump Rooms. A good place to take the dog or the children or go for a stroll birdwatching. If you look carefully you may find a Cormorant, a Grey Wagtail or even a Treecreeper. In summer you can see chicks being reared by Swans, Mallards, Coots, Moorhens, Grebes and perhaps Green Woodpeckers. In winter there are occasional visits by Goosanders.

Opened in 1825, Pittville Park is the largest ornamental park in Cheltenham and features the magnificent pump room and lakes. This park is given a grade 2 listing under the English Heritage register of historic parks and gardens, with the pump rooms as a grade 1 historic building.Within the park there are a wide range of sporting and leisure opportunities.

Facilities include angling, golf and a skateboarding area. All these facilities are situated to the west of Evesham Road.

To the east of the road you will find an excitingly designed childrens' play area which has picnic tables adjacent to the play equipment. The children's play area is a dog free zone and completely enclosed for added safety. Children will delight in the added attraction of the aviaries which house a variety of birds and bunnies which are managed in conjunction with the Support Our Birds and Bunnies Committee.

From a birdwatching perspective, the main areas are the two lakes on either side of the Evesham Road but the whole park may have woodland and garden birds etc.

You can’t miss it, to the North of town. There are lots of nearby places to park. The best (free) parking is off Albermarle Gate near to the Pump Room.

The park has toilets, an open air café and other park facilities. It is within easy walking distance to Cheltenham where there are lots of shops, cafés, restaurants etc.
