Arachnothera hypogrammicum ; Hypogramma hypogrammicum (but Hypogramma cannot be used for a bird as it had been used in Lepidoptera).

  • Bright green streaking on underparts

Distribution

Asia:
Asia: found in China
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Brunei, Singapore, Borneo, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Natuna Islands.

Taxonomy

Kurochkinegramma hypogrammicum is the only species in the genus Kurochkinegramma.

Subspecies

There are 5 subspecies[1]:

  • K. h. nuchale:
  • K. h. hypogrammicum:
  • K. h. natunense:
  • North Natuna Islands (South China Sea)

Habitat

They can be found in various forested habitats, including peat swamp forests, second growth and plantations.

Behaviour

Diet

Their main diet consists of insects and spiders in addition to nectar, fruits and seeds. They usually feed below 5m.
