    Fem/imm black redstart on the roofs at Spring farm business park this morning (a rather happy find whilst surveying pylons!) - grid ref SJ692591. Don't know about access - I was there on business... I took a record shot - will upload when I get it off the camera

    Ruff out on the marsh today (the receding flood is now pulling in lots more lapwing) taking our garden list up to 99 - still waiting for redwing

    Five ruff on the flood at Burton marsh this morning and the two ruddy shelduck are still there too

    Garden list has now rolled on to 96. Whooper swans were just visible at the end of the marsh last week and there was a single gadwall on the marsh.     Whooper swan ID at distance

    Thanks Jan-Paul They did have very long straight necks so I'm thinking whooper. I know they've been on the marsh where I saw them - I just want to feel confident of the ID in my own mind. Cheers

    Great white egret over today. Whooper swans further down the river so hoping they fly on up soon. Will have to start feeding soon too - we're reckoning on a table with seed to see if the linnet will come in

    Moved into our new house about 6 weeks ago - garden list up to 88 as of today with golden plover. Mind you we do overlook the Dee estuary...
