    Birds re visiting garden

Hi Since June I have had no birds feeding at my garden, however in the past five days I have had up to 9 goldfinches, 6 blue tits, pair of great tits and a large number of starlings. I am chuffed to bits because I really thought that there was a general decline in bird life in my area due to...

    reduction of birds generally

Hi, I live on Anglesey and I had up until last year around 18 to 20 goldfinches feed at my garden. Siskins and serins were few and chaffinch were numerous. During the past 9 months to date I have seen no blue tit's, great tit's or any of the above already mentioned. I have however numerous...

Blue tit nesting behaviour (newbie/non-birder question)

I should not worry to much about your looking into the nest, however I would refrain from that if I were you.You will soon know if they are there because they will be continually bringing supplies to the nest. There are of course predators that can spoil the party. Best of luck. Pete

Blue tit nesting behaviour (newbie/non-birder question)

Hi I have had a blue tit roosting since last september, but on new years day it left and has not retuned. I think it could have been killed by a cat. I thought it would likely be the male as he was perhaps looking after territory for next years hatch...

    Chicks abandoned?

Hi Same thing has just happened to me I have 7 chicks (CCTV), but since 2000hrs both male and female have not visited to feed birds and the femail has not returned to the nest. Could it be that the chicks are ready to fledge 20 days, very active in nest throughout the day, wings flapping.

Hi I have had seven blue tit's eggs hatch on the 10 May, all are still ok and being fed by parent's at a rapid rate. Weather is pretty mild and I have seen one or two caterpillars about. So it seems to be that your remarks are quite correct. I have a cctv camera in the next box, not a brilliant...
