    Reed Warbler - Romania in March

    Am definately sure it was Reed Warb and had others hear one also the week after at a more northly location of the danuabe. Habitat was typical reedbed. Weather was great and no snow and dont belive there had been any over the winter so far?

    Now seen it in better light and it is a warm chestnut colour so female it is then. Nice to see on the feeder when given the chance by the rather aggressive robin. Thanks for responses

    I had a blackcap in my garden this morning with a brown cap. I read that the post juvenial moult is partial and completed by October so is it safe to say female or could it still be a juvenile? Many thanks Tom

    cheers it worked though - the sparrowhawk flew off after a minute over the houses and the goldfinch stayed in proximity to the park.

    I would recommend Portugal, south spain, Ibiza or Majorca. I have a 2 year old now and have travelled to canaries and ibiza with her.
