    Could just be coincidence or whatever I suppose, but I've noticed a significantly fewer sightings of Buzzard and Red Kite in my are over the past few weeks. I've also recieved reports from local people of a marked drop in gull numbers at favoured sites. Does anyone know how much of an effect...

    I like wearing my bins high up (eyepieces slightly above my nipples), not for weight reasons but so that I can get 'em up to my eyes a couple of nanoseconds quicker than I could if they were hanging low on my rather firm abdomen, plus any females I come across can get a nice view of my six-pack...

    I also have arthritis in my hands, but am the opposite to you and found the SRGA more comfortable to hold than roof prisms. The hyper fast focusing is a plus in this respect too.

    Not sure this will help much, but for what it's worth..I've owned a pair for about 6 months. Been out in light rain with them a couple of times..I keep 'em tucked inside my jacket and expose them to the elements for brief periods only. Don't think I'd risk it in anything other than light rain...

    I'm not suggesting that anyone bid/buy them, especially at the asking price for the Elite's, just thought it interesting and unusual that two 9x35 configurations are on ebay at the same time. My recently purchased Opticron SRGA 8x32 porrro cost less than what the seller's asking for those...

    Bob, interestingly, I'm pretty sure that the Opticron Elite 9x35 in my previous post is the CF equivalent of your Leupold 9X35 Gold Ring. With the obvious exception of the focusing method, the specs pretty much match up as do the dimensions and period of manufacture.

    Best Cleaning product for Binoculars

    Baader Optical Wonder Fluid is very good, it leaves very little residue. I also have Fujifilm cleaning fluid but it's not as good as Baader as it leaves a residue.

    I remember watching a partial solar eclipse during school time back in the early 60's. The whole class went out to the school yard and we viewed the eclipse by holding a piece of glass that the teacher had blackened with a candle flame. :eek!: Those were the days!.......|=)|
