    Best Bird App for Indonesia?

Kinda late to the party, but I agree that Merlin is the best for now.. although there are still some species recording missing, if this is what you need it for.

    Mystery raptor from Indonesia

Wings looks wayy to square for pygmy eagle, with sharp angle between primaries and secondaries. Pretty sure it is young brahiminy kite as explained by Grahame

4 days in Jakarta... Again. Any chance for green junglefowl near?

Not amazingly rare, just getting hard to find in Jakarta. Massively understudied as well and still no survey to assess its current status. Still numerous in Surabaya and Yogyakarta coast, but birder rarely comes there. Yep, the boardwalk is almost non-existent and they don't open it to...

4 days in Jakarta... Again. Any chance for green junglefowl near?

I know this is pretty late, but Green Junglefowl has been reported recently (an immature female) from Ragunan Zoo, around the crocodile enclosure. That should work if you don't care much about the origin of the individual--which is most likely an escapee, though still possibilities of wild...

Two new bird species from the Meratus Mountains

Indonesian name can be complicated since birder and aviculturist used different terms, especially the later since they don't follow modern taxonomy and varies between location. Sikatan refers to fantail in most aviculturist, but we birder use it for flycatchers.

    For Black-browed Babbler! Zoom H5 vs H6 vs Tascam DR-40x; and SGH-6 vs SSH-6 vs Rode NTG2?

Ok, I admit I used the recently rediscovered black-browed babbler as bait to get a quicker response--but that's exactly what I am going to do. I am going to have fieldwork soon in the area where it was rediscovered, and I need your suggestion of a good and affordable handheld recorder+shotgun...

    Cacomantis cuckoo East Java

I cropped the image to get more detail of the head and claw. You can clearly see the eyering and the eyemask as well, which somehow confused me even more between RBC and BBC.

    Brown Fulvetta? Jambi, Sumatra

My friend caught this bird in ringing mist net. I suspected it as Brown Fulvetta, but the grey on the head is too intense compared to most picture available in the internet. I can't find any picture of Nrown Fulvetta from Sumatra, so I suspect there is some color variations from this island...
