You'd be lucky! You'd need someone half decent to get that, even at Frampton. In other words, not me. 92 species for today, in an (almost) solo effort as everyone else was too busy jetting off to Cyprus, working or twitching other things. 90 species for me, 2 by others. We now return you to...

Ooops, we've let this slip a bit. So whats about? Well, the ibis has scarpered, but we do have a small flock of snow buntings. usually to be seen by the sea bank. Lots of wigeon, brents, goldies... quite a few other waders kicking about too. Up to 100 ruff in the field alongside the car park...

Important bit from today, 3rd bittern for the reserve (and the site manager still hasn't seen one!)

Rough legged buzzard reported today off the saltmarsh, but care is needed as there are a couple of very pale common buzzards out there too. Check, check again, then check once more!

A belated report of a red-flanked blue-tail down Tab's Head last night In other news, reports of a rough-legged buzzard today. Alas, the centre volunteer didn't phone the office so couldn't get out and check it whilst it was still there. Boy Wonder and i saw a bird later that *might* have been...

Not Frampton, but there is apparently a grey phalarope at Freiston.

Though not one, not two, but three Pec Sands this afternoon was of course some consolation...

Big high tide today, though not so many birds as might be expected. Maybe they were all at Freiston. 50 curlew sandpipers was a good count though. Someone reported a Baird's sandpiper last night, but had no sign of it this morning

All the same birds about today, though in lesser numbers. Tem was only seen first thing too

See? What did I say? And available for a very reasonable cost from the visitor centre ;) Pec Sand and Tem Stint were also both about, but proving problematic to find. Glossy ibis was still with us, 3 spoonbills, 20+ curlew sand, half a dozen little stints, good views of merlin, hobby and...

Further to BoyWonder and VillagerFred's posts above, may I encourage anyone who visits to not just look at the waders. Fantastic though they obviously are. Instead, please consider going just that little bit further afield. The path down to Tab's Head, ie the mouth of the River Witham, is...

Am given to understand there is a young Temminck's stint out on the scrapes today. Pectoral sandpiper is still with us. As are the old favourites of glossy ibis, spoonbills (3), spotted redshank and merlin

Quick round-up from today The pec sand seems to have commuted over to Freiston, being seen there at 9:45 The glossy ibis also seems to have caught the travel bug, rarely being seen on the reserve though it was on the wet grassland for some brief periods. Finally getting itchy feet after 2...

And some extra special news... http://www.birdguides.com/webzine/article.asp?a=4551 Was on a boat trip down the Witham, past the reserve and up the Welland yesterday, followed by a flip around the reserve. Highlights were: Little terns - quite a few at the mouth of the Witham, should be...
