Best bins for under, lets say, 130 euro

Consider the Papilio I'd suggest that you consider the Pentax Papilio because of their VERY close focus. Besides being quite good at traditional binocular tasks, they open up a whole new world of detail in flowers and bugs. Quite educational in my opinion. Bill

    Astro eyepieces in spotting scopes

Looking at the pictures in the brochure, I don't think you have to swap anything, but rather just remove the 1.25" snout and you're left with M35 female thread. In other words, the 1.25" snout has a M35 male thread on the end that attaches to the eye piece. In any case, I'm anxious to try...

    Astro eyepieces in spotting scopes

Just ordered Baader GENII 18mm for my Celestron Well, call me impetuous, but I just couldn't wait. After searching in vain for a vendor in the USA, I ordered the Baader GENII 18mm wide angle from Teleskop Service (see link above). Shipping cost me almost as much as the eyepiece, but still...

    Astro eyepieces in spotting scopes

14mm Baader fixed-focal length eyepiece with M35 thread That is VERY interesting to me. I have a Celestron Ultima-80 and have been looking for eyepiece options with longer eye relief. The only option I have found thus far has been the Baader zoom. I don't see this 14mm Baader eyepiece with...

The Binocular in "The Bridge on the River Kwai."

    Looking for a good flashlight

Flashlight information Off the top of my head I'd suggest you look at a Fenix flashlight. I have been carrying a L1P for several years. I don't believe they make that model any more, but any of their single-AA battery lights would be worth looking at. Lots of good information at...

    Book: Birds of Wisconsin

I just got a copy of what looks to me like a very nice book, titled "Birds of Wisconsin", published by the University of Wisconsin Press, and copyrighted by the Friends of the Museum, Inc. I was looking for a good field guide at Half Price Books when I found it. It's a large book, definitely...
