    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Yes , I am in the unfortunate position of living in a "Failed State" (not a thing that I can do about this) , it is absolutely out of the question to send anything out of the country and expect it to reach its destination , let alone getting it back. Heck , we don't even have a working Postal...

    Zeiss eye candy....

Thanks. For me this is my favourite binocular , I think that its performance is superb in every way. Yes , the binocular is heavy , but I have got used to this and the weight no longer bothers me , it does give a feeling of solidity in the hand even if the casing is made out of plastic. I...

    Nobody else ????. Zeiss "Night Owl" 7 x 45 T*P*.

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Swarovski should just scrap the rubber armour and revert to covering their binoculars in the "old fashioned" way , but this will probably raise prices , and the buyers will no doubt raise Cain about this , can't have that now , can we

Do what I decided , simply do not buy another new Swarovski ;)

NL Pure strap lugs spinning tangle

Simple "old tech" strap lugs are still the best , but "uncool" , but if used then the product won't sell  .

Which binocular(s) did you use today?

Used these 2 yesterday , (just to keep things in perspective). ;)

    Uncomfortable Pocket CL 8x25..really?

The rubber covering on my Swarovski CL 8 x 25 has become a sticky mess , uncomfortable in use , @%$# yes , but the mechanism and optics are good ☚ī¸.

    Optics misused Terminology.

"Pair of Binoculars" , instead of just "Binocular",..........uhhhm :D

Which binocular(s) did you use today?

I enjoyed using my Kowa YF 8 x 30 today (09 May 2023). I watched a pair of soaring Hawks that were "Ebber So High" for about half an hour 😁. This little Kowa is a better binocular than many might think.

Show us your "vintage" and classic binos

Here is another old 7 x 35 Japanese one that I have (made by JB87) with a narrow field of view , but it still gives a nice view.

Kowa BD II XD 8x42 vs. Verano BGA VHD 8x42

The Chinese take manufacturing "shortcuts" and use cheap sub-standard materials , their products are not made to last. But I do admit to having some Chinese made binoculars ;). I think that Swarovski is well on the way to adopt this mindset , biodegadable coverings indeed. I think that Leica...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

My CL 8 x 25 also has sticky rubber. No more Swarovski's for me untill they stop using inferior coverings , after all these are supposed to be "superior" binoculars. It is good and well to advise me to "just send them back to Swarovski , they will recover them at no charge" , unfortunately...

Show us your "vintage" and classic binos

Ok , here is my Plano 7 x 35 , a really nice Japanese vintage binocular (made by JB191 / JE17). This binocular is in regular use , and is a pleasure to use.
