Red-tailed hawk
I had a unique opportunity to shoot in a pristine salt-marsh here in Connecticut - a one-day deal, good luck. But it worked out well, as I saw dozens of hawks (and others, which I'll be posting). This guy landed literally over my head, which gave me a great angle, but I was getting showered with bark chips.
Habitat
Almost anywhere - they can be found in wooded, suburban, grassy areas, even prairies and semi-desert areas.

Branford, Connecticut

March 16, 2022

Buteo jamaicensis

So nicely posed and composed, Barbie. Well worth getting showered with bark!
