Northern Black-throated Trogon (Trogon tenellus)

A male found quietly perched on the dirt road to La Selva Biological station, Costa Rica. This one didn't seen to mind my shutterbugging and I was able to back away without flushing him when I was done. What a beauty he was !

We tallied 250+ in 6 days but the last two days were spent hunting down a few tough highland endemics , I ended up with 177 life birds for the trip, we never saw either coastline. What were your totals if you don't mind me asking ?

I have yet to get to costa rica. Daughter was the one that just came back.

177 species is not a shabby list. You have to be doing the happy dance.
