I will try to add some links for Louisiana birding.
Here is our bird list:

Despite what it says there, you no longer have to report Calliope Hummingbird; it is accepted on the official list now as of last December. I myself had the pleasure of hosting one in my yard in October 2002.
Here are some excellent directions to Southwest Louisiana hotspots:

If you are dragging along nonbirders, I have seen live wild alligators close-up at Sabine any time of the year -- even in winter.
Sometimes I put birding content in my diary and here are a few:

A caveat about my diaries -- since it is a diary, it has a hodgepodge of strange stream of consciousness thoughts about everything under the sun. Click on the "Birding" tab to get to an index of the birding content or Lord knows what you'll find yourself reading.
Also, as I am not an expert birder, I do miss a fair number of birds, and I know that the experts can get much bigger lists than I do.
Random thought about my area, Western St. Tammany Parish -- It is a good time of year for Bald Eagles.
I have a small backyard but perhaps I will list my yard list later for the curious. Hmm. My state list needs to be organized as well.
