Merlin is telling me this is a Mississippi Kite- but look at the forked tail

I can't see much of a fork in either image. Possibly a very slight notch in the lower image, but that is OK for Mississippi Kite (afaik).

    Common or Honey Buzzard?

Common Buzzard for, amongst other reasons: White band on breast in first & third photos. Multiple narrow tail bands in second photo. Bill & head shape & colour, particularly in third photo.

    Mediterranean Gull? Frampton Marsh

I wouldn't argue with that. You saw something, took photos/videos of the something & ID'd it later.

    Mediterranean Gull? Frampton Marsh

I was putting my point of view out there, but it's your list & you can add to it anything you want 👍 Re bins, there are some decent yet inexpensive models available. Try out a few if you are at a reserve with an optics shop or there is an optics retailer near you.

    Mediterranean Gull? Frampton Marsh

Yes, as I would have been looking at that specific bird, so I'd have seen it. If ID'd by someone else at the time I could at least spend time looking at the relevant ID pointers 'live' rather than later from notes/photos.

    Mediterranean Gull? Frampton Marsh

Not necessarily, if your focus was not on something in the background of your intended subject. No one has mentioned 'naked eye'. Plainly, seen is understood to include seen through optics. My interpretation of the OP is not that it was a record shot of a bird seen & to be...

    Mediterranean Gull? Frampton Marsh

Not in my book it's not. If I didn't see it in the field, then it won't go on my list.

    Timberhonger & Surrounds

That is pretty uninspiring, but fair play for trying.

    Wild Bird

Looks like a Great Tit. I'd share your qualms in catching it, parents were probably around & wondering where it went. Maybe too late to put it back. Unless a fledgling/chick is in immediate danger it shouldn't be 'rescued' but left to the ministrations of parent birds. Given where things have...

River warbler or common grasshopper warbler?

Well, that's something I've learnt today... you can ask questions on xeno-canto!

I'll see if Dave has the full list list in a more user-friendly version than mine.

The only photo I took during Saturday's All-dayer was of a female Beautiful Demoiselle, see attached. This, and a male Banded Demoiselle, were my first Odonata of the year

Details attached relating to a darvic-ringed BHG seen at the Flashes on 27th April. This is only the second BHG recorded on the reserve from a Scottish ringing scheme. Photo also attached.

That, of course, should be waders rather than 'wafers' 🤦

Fairly quiet at the Flashes this evening. Wafers present were: Oystercatcher (2), Avocet (60+), LRP (4), Lapwing (3) & Common Sandpiper (2). Two Common Terns & the 1st S Common Gull also noted. Two broods of three Canada Geese & one, much reduced, of Mallard.
