    Looked at the 150-600mm today compared to 100-400mm and big difference in weight. Almost 1kg heavier and didn't really get on well hand held because of the weight and size 😕

    Going for the Mk2, just need to decide on the lense. Decided against the prime as prefer zoom. So I guess its between the 100-400mm and the 150-600mm but weight wise the other half is going to want the lighter one

    Are the toes of a chiffchaff always dark along with legs ? Willow Warbler generally have paler legs but this one in the photo has darker legs but because the toes are lighter that's another good I.d for Willow Warbler? Cheers

    Sorry for the poor photos, taken through the window ! Now I think Willow Warbler because of the pale legs, the longer primary projection and the unevenly spaced primary tips but then I look at another angle and I think possible Chiffchaff, I'm still learning and trying to get might head around...

    I'm in Alcoutim at the moment and so many birds around, been going to some of the places in Goncalo Elias's book and it has been brilliant. Saw a Great Spotted Cuckoo, Shrike and Hoopoe yesterday 😀

    I've become so used to the zoom lens it's hard to get my head round the 300mm prime lens not being a zoom and actually how good it would be as its only a certain focal length. Not being able to zoom in or out 🤔

    Thanks everyone for your advice and thoughts 🙏 Weight is a concern but I was looking for something with a good zoom. I will have a look at both lenses mentioned. Thanks, Its such a worry spending this sort of money and then getting it wrong.
