Ynys y Fro Reservoirs (1 Viewer)

A Welsh birder in Dorset!
Two medium reservoirs owned by Welsh Water offer a range of wintering wildfowl including good numbers of pochard and tufted duck, others include gadwall, teal, and the odd shoveler and wigeon. the highlight last winter were three black necked grebes which stayed all winter and attracted a number of local birders.

Other birds on the reservoirs include: great crested grebe, little grebe, cormorant, mute swan. There is also a few hedgrows around the lakes which hold warblers and finches.

Birders must have a Gwent Ornithological Society card when on site!
