Which Grebe? Lehigh County, PA, USA (2 Viewers)

We had a small fallout of waterfowl this morning in Lehigh County, PA. There was a small flock of Horned Grebes (which is the expected species), but one grebe stayed by itself. I didn't get great pics, but it just looks "different". I see some black below the eye, I don't really see rufous on the neck, and the bill looks all dark. However, it doesn't have a peaked crown like many Eared Grebes show.

I'm pretty sure it's just another transitional plumage Horned, but I wanted to double check it's not an Eared. Thoughts?
