Hi there,im off to Turkey on wed and am stopping in Alanya, its is 99% family holiday but i am taking my binoculars for early morning and evening walks.Has anyone been to this area and if so what birds are possible? I wont have a car but im hoping to find a nice scrub area where i can check for newly arrived migrants. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance
Dave

Hi Dave,

Didnt do Alanya myself, but bumped into some birders who described a wetland 25 km from alanya heading east which had good numbers of birds, including crakes.

The hills in th area are said to have levants sparrowhawk.
They definitely have birds such as krupers nuthatch, ruppels warbler and cretchmars bunting.

Regards

Owen
