I have just been listening to a rather peculiar programme on Radio 4. It is the first in a series of seasonal dramas set in a fictional nature reserve in Norfolk, following the issues involved in running such a place in the current climate. It was recorded on location at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, which gives us the opportunity to identify some of the sounds in the background. It features Sophie Okonedo and Mark Rylance, although the somewhat clunky script doesn't really challenge their undoubted acting ability. It is available on BBC Sounds and, whilst not brilliant, is worth a listen as something slightly out of the ordinary.
