Now back three years ago My wife and I were being conveyed in a bus through Boston and when we stopped at the lights at Charles Street South, the driver told us to look to our right and we would see the bronze statue of Edger Allan Poe. A small section of the city is actually dubbed “Edgar Allan Poe Square".
At the risk of being once more accused of plagiarism, I took the photo below myself out of the bus window.
In our own park 'back in the world' we have had over the years, two black coloured birds in residence. The Crow and the Raven.
I used to see a lot of ravens. They are a sleek black bird whilst the crows are quite horrible with that protruding gullet in the lower throat, and who utter the most dreadful of sounds.
Today I no longer see any Ravens, and it appears that they have departed and are no longer around anymore.
These sleek Raven birds have been replaced by these other horrid, evil looking black fowl
“Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil!—
Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted—
On this home by Horror haunted—tell me truly, I implore—
Is there—is there balm in Gilead?—tell me—tell me, I implore!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”
