Thank you! This tree is about 3m away from our living room window, so to see the Sparrowhak catch one of the migrating birds was quite an experience!

It is amazing. Best I have seen is a peregrine take a pigeon at a sports stadium and a kestrel take a blue tit at a more usual nature reserve!

Look at that catch! I can't tell what it's gotten, but that bird is nearly as big as it is. Did it fly very far with that hefty dinner?

The prey looks like Fieldfare.

I can confirm it was a very unfortunate Fieldfare. We’ve got a swarm of them in the garden currently devouring the poor robins bird feeder!
