nest identification (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
Today I found a strange nest in a conifer tree in the garden. It was about 10inches across, kind of domed in shape, the top looked a bit like a wood pidgeons nest but it was lined with moss and lichen as in a tits nest with a pair of ladies tights, a bit of netting from my pond and a few bits of plastic bags. The outside had large fur tree cuttings all over it about 6 to 8 inches long also from the garden.
I think the article used to build it were too big for a sparrow to move and the nest itself too small for a magpie to get into. Any ideas? Sorry I didnt get a picture to help you
Pete
