Worrying news that another possible plan for a highland golf course at Coul Links in Scotland after been rejected with a planning application that went on for a number of years. Now another organisation wants to build a golf course at Coul Links. There seems to be something completely wrong with the planning laws in the UK(England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) if after a long legal battle to save Coul Links that someone else or another company/organisation then can come along and then put another planning application after just over 12 months later after the last planning application was rejected and the expense with the legal fight to save Coul Links, that the same situation could happen again and drag on for another few years with the fight to save Coul Links yet again.

Hi Ian, been aware of this.

This new attempt has been lodged in the name of defunct organisation Embo Junior Football and Athletic Club. Defunct as in no longer exists...

A local councillor seems to be behind it, and of course American billionaire Todd Warnock, who originally tried to get the golf course approved, has already invested in property in the area. Wonder if there's the slightest possibility they know each other...?

Here's the previous thread on the first attempt:

I have found this - https://www.coullinksgolf.com/ - site to be a useful source of information.

I note that there has been another fire there, almost a year to the day after the last one: someone of an uncharitable turn of mind might think this is deliberate and designed to destroy as much of Coul Links as possible, reducing its conservation value, but we are all of a charitable turn of mind - aren't we? - and can only think that this is a coincidence...

Hi Murmur, hope all's well. Indeed, such incredibly bad luck with the fires, eh? To quote Ian Fleming: “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action”...
