Thinking of going out for my first day of birdwatching away from a reserve and wasthinking of the Gosport, Pompy and Hayling Island area. Got the book on suggested sites. Been reading about there being some nice gulls and other rare birds there recently. Just wondering if anyone knows what is around at the moment.

Langtone harbour is always worth a look. i haven't been out that way for a while so can't help with whats about.

Post a report of what you find please.

All of the places already mentioned have their merits, and of course you could also go in the other direction to the Pennington and Keyhaven area.

This won't help you for today, but it could help to keep you more informed in the future.

Many thanks for the replies. Good website John. (perhaps I should have mentioned that I was going this weekend and not the day I posted the message LOL)
