Fjord birds (1 Viewer)

Hi.

Bit short notice but can anyone advise on what birds of note may be seen on a fjord cruise at this time of year?

The most northern point we visit is Alesund- then Olden, Flam & Bergen. Would love to see White Tailed Eagle or anything we don't get in the UK regularly.

Setting sail on Saturday (23rd).

Thanks.

Hi Mick

Have you looked in Opus, this one's near Alesund. Click on the Norway tag to find other articles.

May give you a bit to go on till someone else chimes in

Norway has the highest concentration of WTSE's around so there's a good chance you'll see them. I was photographing them in Flatanger last weekend (see attached) and you can see them from miles away with the naked eye. The white tail easily gives the adults away from a distance.

Thanks guys for replying.

Those are great shots- would be great to see them fishing from the ship. Excellent site too.

Cheers Mick.
