Can anyone recommend a good site for great bustard in the Elvas area?

Also, any recommendations for sites in the Parque Natural da Serra de S. Mamede (both birdwatching and general flora and fauna) would be very welcome.

Hi Waxwings,

For Serra de São Mamede I suggest the following sites:

Marvão Castle and walls for Crag Martin, Black Redstart, Rock Bunting, Blue Rock Thrush - 39.395409, -7.378309
Galegos cliffs for Griffon Vulture, Crag Martin, Blue Rock Thrush and Alpine Swift - 39.356123, -7.313748
Porto da Espada chestnut groves for Woodlark, Rock Sparrow, Spotless Starling and Cirl Bunting - 39.353543, -7.357575
Beirã railway station for White Stork and Pallid Swift - 39.449835, -7.368176
Barragem da Póvoa (a reservoir) and its surrounds for Bee-eater, Hoopoe, Subalpine, Sardinian and Spectacled warblers, Crag Martin, Red-rumped Swallow, Azure-winged Magpie, Woodchat Shrike, Golden Oriole and Spanish Sparrow - from 39.452254, -7.533958 to 39.478535, -7.551886

Hope this helps!
Gonçalo
