Has anyone birded and camped on the Tortugas during April? How was the experience and what were the logistics?
I've made some initial investigations and it seems camping has to be a minimum of 3 nights and all gear and provisions must be taken by oneself.
Have people found it worth the effort - we'd be travelling around Florida by car after flying in from England so gear would have to be bought or hired in the states.
Faff?
Maybe better on an organised birding cruise? Or day trip?
Thing is we really fancy staying over so we can view the night sky and snorkel as well as find migrants.
Any input welcomed.
