Had a lovely morning at the regular end of month birdwatch morning at our local WWT centre. Specials included a Little Egret flying on cue in front of the Brent hide. Also, beautiful view of a treecreeper on a long peanut feeder. Tide was just going out as we arrived at the Brent hide - Dot (the guide) gave a great hint - if you see redshank arriving, the tide is going out - a great tip, if like me you are never too sure whether to wait or not.

Observed brent geese, shelduck, eider, redshank, oystercatcher, dunlin, golden plover, curlew, teal from this hide. Previously in the woodland walk -robin, blackbird, wren, bullfinch, chaffinch, great tit, coal tit, goldcrest, treecreeper, greenfinch and raven. Stopped at wader lake and spots included a great view of little grebe with a fish, tufted ducks, mallard and moorhen.
Not bad for an hour and a half!
