Yelkouan Shearwater in Devon: new to Britain
A Yelkouan Shearwater seen off Berry Head, Devon, on 29th July 2008 by Mark Darlaston and Mike Langman has been accepted by BOURC as the first for Britain. This paper describes the circumstances of the record and the identification process.

Complete, lord help us, with commentary on "head-lifting" which even I've seen in Pacific "Little"; Buller's and, I think, Audubon's and has been described as "diagnostic" once upon an eon for Atlantic "Little" and is even mentioned as having also been seen in Balearic in this very article...is it just me that thinks it is distinctive...of shearwaters in general...and that's about it?
