Bracket fungus help with ID please (1 Viewer)

I think it is red-belted bracket Fomitopsis pinicola but confirmation would be reassuring especially as it was on birch and they are usually on conifers. Hollesley, Suffolk 14/5/22

I think Red-belted Polipore is common on deciduous trees too, most that I see on my land are on birch (but I don't have many conifers)
