Birding Philippines? (1 Viewer)

I will be in the Philippines - specifically Manila/Clark Air Base area - next week and am trying to find some information on the birds to be expected. I ordered a bird guidebook but don't expect it to arrive before my impromptu departure. Unfortunately, I won't have time to extensively bird other than in transit and will not be permitted off base for security reasons. Still interested in the local, common birds of those areas if anyone could enlighten me. Thanks.

Maine,
Let me understand - only info for Clark, or will you be able to move around and bird Metro Manila?

Most of my time will probably be spent at Clark and a small base about 5 hours southeast of there, so I probably won't have any time for Manila. I am peeved that I won't have time for any serious birding, but still interested in what I may see in the trees surrounding the base, etc.

Wasn't aware that the U.S. Facility Command was still operative. If you can give me a name of a town in the area of the second locale (even by PM), I will make some enquiries in the Philippines. I don't have any hard info on the area of Clark and it would be good to know what has come of the birdlife since 1991 and Pinatubo.
