Hi all,
The 2013 Wicklow County Bird Race will take place on Saturday 9th February, meeting at the car park at the southern end of Bray promenade (by the amusements) at 07:30 for team registration, with the race then beginning at 07:45 sharp. The race will finish at 18:30 in The Beehive Inn, on the N11 south of Rathnew. Teams of 3-4 people per car at €5 per person.
We wish to encourage birders of all levels of experience to take part so teams will be allocated at their request into one of two categories - "Experienced" or "Not-so-experienced" (with prizes up for grabs in both categories).
Records from the day will be logged onto BirdTrack.
Four teams took part in the 2012 race, recording a total of 112 species on the day including Rough-legged Buzzard, Tundra Bean Goose, Iceland Gull, Goosander, Bewick’s Swan, Snow Bunting etc.
