    Baltimore Oriole Feeding Question

I'm looking for some advice from experienced Oriole feeders. I've had the apparently common experience of attracting Orioles with oranges and grape jelly, but only for a week or two, then they disappear. The last Orioles (Oriolus oriolus)

The last Golden Orioles (Oriolus oriolus) were filmed before my departure at the end of June for other territories, when I returned in mid-August there was not even one left.

    City Birds Of San Diego

We do a daily live stream of our backyard feeders and watering dishes. We have a variety of birds that hang out in our yard including scrub jays, hooded orioles, house finches, sparrows and crows. Baltimore Orioles

For the last week, I had been seeing the female. The week before that, the male. And now, I finally managed to capture both of them at once. Well, for a second. As you can see, the male is landing and the female is leaving. My favorite photo I have ever taken!

    Orchard Oriole

I must apologize for my earlier Id of this bird. I labeled it a Pine Warbler and thanks to Vicki (ducbucin) I can see how obvious it is that this is a female or immature Orchard Oriole.

    Baby Bullock's Orioles

I don't know if this was their first sojourn from the nest but they certainly kept together -- going from branch to branch together -- as Mama Oriole kept a very close watch from a nearby oak tree (especially keeping an eye on ME as I took photos of them!).
