Honeybee nectaring on toadflax. I used to keep bees (just for 2 summers, until I became seriously allergic to bee stings) but I never noticed that oar-shaped back leg before.
I'm not sure exactly where, but I think the Botanical Gardens, or perhaps some other nearby property, must keep honeybees. I saw quite a few of them here and there in the gardens. This plant was acrawl with them so, as I'm allergic to bee stings, I didn't bend in close enough to read the plant...
Or maybe "It's all a matter of taste"? Technically not such a great picture, and the plant clearly needs the services of this ladybug. But I like the "story" it tells.
