    I'd like to think they're robust enough to be able to get back on track. This paper talks about their migration south from Gibraltar with one bird known to traverse the entire Sahara in one day, and one that was able to cover nearly 2000 km in two days...

    We had haar-like conditions on the Firth of Clyde today. Interesting the way the fog seemed to settle in the middle of the firth as visibility was reduced as we approached the middle, then improved again as we approached the opposite shore. This happened four times. The water was so calm too...

    Good job seeing the jay. I've only ever had one fleeting glimpse of a jay. I believe there are jays at Baron's Haugh near me but I've never had any luck seeing any there.

    Looking back at the start of the thread Andrew and admiring the walled garden a few doors down. Anything of note there since you moved in? It reminds me a little of the walled garden at the top of the Isle of May beside the lighthouse where they have the heligoland traps.
